Choosing an AV receiver

Hi,

I am in the process of setting up a 7.1 home theatre system. The primary purpose is to watch movies and sports. I have almost zeroed in on a set of Revel speakers (F12, C12, S12 & B120) and I am trying to identify a suitable AV receiver for the same.

A friend has suggested the Marantz 7003 receiver and I am trying to find other options. Can anyone please provide me with similar models in other brands? I am looking at a price range of Rs.75,000/-.

Also, is there a significant difference between SMPS and Transformer powered receivers? Which ones are better?

Any pointers for the above questions will be of great help.
