Chromecast 2 with projector

Hi,

I feel uncomfortable while connecting the bluray player/laptop to projector, it needs long wire and it is inconvenient since the wire lies in the ground.
whether Chromecast or Chromecast 2 can be used with projector for streaming movies/ music. ? Please advice.

Yes you could. The video playback will just work fine, but the question is how do you manage the sound?. I am sure, you are not going to be happy with the inbuilt projector speaker, if the projector has any.

Do you have a receiver? Connect all sources to that and run a single cable to the projector.

Connecting directly to the projector will not give you the audio to enjoy.

Another option is to connect your PC to reciever, and chromecast to PJ. If you can get your movies to play in chrome using some plugin, picture can be casted to chromecast and sound will go from PC to receiver.

I use the hdmi to send video only to projector and the sound through receiver.

Could you post your entire chain here? For Projector, I would prefer a direct cable connection. HDMI anyday through a receiver.

There is no popular reliable technology available now, which will satisfy your need. I have seen some video streamers, but they are not so popular meaning the technology is naive. The best possible option is to find a way to run an HDMI cable to your PJ, which will solve all your problems. If length is an issue, try to rearrange the position of the AVR somewhere near to the PJ

I am not sure if it is possible to cast to 2 chrome-casts simultaneously from the same source. If it is possible then one can use the second chrome-cast for AVR and thus use the audio through amplifier.

I am using HDMI splitter. One HDMI goes to TV and the other goes to projector 12' away underground cabling, which I got done while renovating my living room.

Yes very much possible. I am using HDMI splitter too.

Audio : HDMI splitter takes the output to receiver ->speaker
video : Chromcaset to HDMI splitter input to PJ.
