Chromecast Audio

Guys, anyone tried the google chromecast audio

https://www.google.co.in/chromecast/speakers/

I have Chromecast Audio, i have connected via direct 3.5 mm out and also with Toslink out.

Sound quality is good, i generally use Soundcloud or Wynk while playing through Chromecast Audio.

If you want to play local music files, then you can use ES file manager's chromecast plugin.

Let me know, if you have any further Qs :)

Kannan, there are number of thread discussing CCA and Raspberry PI in detail. There is no sense in starting a new thread.

Yes, been using since October. I've 3 of them in fact.

SQ is excellent and extremely easy to setup and use. The same as Chromecast for video.

Its however limited to optical Toslink and also 24/96, but if you collection is FLACs and audio CDs then its a perfect fit.

Radio stations, streaming services are another huge plus with it. I listen to Tidal, iHeartRadio, and Slacker Radio on it and also many other internet radio stations on the PC "casted" to it from the PC. Spotify used to work, but they have since blocked VPNs so that has stopped working for me. I'm yet to try Apple Music, but folks who have tried say its excellent VFM for what it costs, around Rs. 120.

@venkatcr - Perhaps a merge with the other threads.

Have asked a friend enroute from US this month to carry it.
I have quite a few friends running DSP in cars.
Could be a great solution for them to use phones or tabs as source

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
