Clipping and speaker damage

Hi guys I found a website saying Clipping WONT damage speakers if they have a high enough watt rating.

Essentially says a clipping amp may produce twice the power. Say a 100 watt amp putting out 200 watts. However if the speaker is rated 200 watts it will not damage it.

Is this true??

Clipping as a solitary event may not destroy your speaker or amplifier per se but it would load your amplifier and destroy the tweeter (high frequency driver due yo overheating) if it is allowed to go on an on. If you have a high wattage speaker the speaker may survive but you will see smoke emanating from the overdriven amp!

BTW no one can listen to music when a solid state amp is clipping. A tube amplifier does however sound decent even with slight clipping.
