I recently moved to a new apartment and wanted to have a small speaker setup for my bedroom. I found 4 speakers 20watt max a piece at a garage sale for $5 and currently have a lepai 2020a+ stereo amp that is rated at 2x20 watts which was a christmas gift.

I really like the sound for the $20. I was wondering if it was possible if I got a second lepai amplifier to power the rears off of the same source. I will be hooking (hopefully both) up to a dvd player. Im on a tight (student) budget or Id just get a cheaper receiver. Im not worried about not having true surround sound, I just wanted something with clearer sound and a bit more loudness than the tv speakers.

so 1 dvd player => 2 amps=> 4 speakers

thanks a bunch for any explanation on what to do.

I am assuming that you want a setup with some kind of front and rear channels even though if not true surround sound. If that is the case then you will need a DVD player with pre-amp output for separate channels. Such a player is difficult to come by. If you connect standard composite audio out to both amps, you will get same stereo sound from all four speakers and it will not sound good; in fact it will sound terrible.
