Compatible wireless router for WDTV Live??

WDTV live forum at http://wdtvforum.com/main/index.php?topic=2885.0 mention the list for compatible wireless routers.

I could not find any model ( when i checked the local hardware market in CHANDIGARH ) listed in the above link. This has got me confused.


I urge the WDTV owners who are successfully using wireless routers with WDTV LIVE, to provide the wireless router they are using and plz mention the model number and firmware ver. on their WDTV Live also.

Kindly help me with this.

you can get netgear wndr 3700 for 7500/- retail price locally if you look. It is better than the 3300.

I just got it last week.

Which media player do u have gobble..........is it WDTV live or some other
and whats the version of the firmware u have incase u have WDTV Live?

I dont have a media player except the oppo bd-80 lying boxed.

I thought since the 3300 is on the WD recommended list, the 3700 should have the same features like DNLA uPnP servvice etc.

Shouldn't any device which is UPnP compatible work with WDTV Live. Why is that you've to use a manufacturer recommended router, If you already have a router should we be replacing it just for WDTV Live to work - I wouldn't think WD are so dumb

That's a absolute joke to me - I would always want a device which is compatible with everything around me and not the other way around.

U r right.....but now that joke has become a problem for me.
I cannot spend my money for a router, for which i have doubt's.

Thats right! Things do not work smoothly even for premium products, that is sad state of s/w quality.


The 3700 appears has some basic issues I am struggling with since yesterday. Will post an update tomorrow after some more troubleshooting. The firmware may need yet another few revisions before everything becomes smooth.

I have the same problem , My Belkin USB FD57050ak doesnt work with WDTV live. Even after i have updated the homebrew firmware
