component port not working

well i bought a samsung plano 29 incher back in 2005 seems that the component port the (green blue red) is not working or I do not know how to make it work there are two sources av 1,av2 but no component or any thing when i tried to connect my dth video with component and audio with the ordinary pins no sound was even heard and a blank screen was all that is saw the but things work fine when connected to with yellow pin in av1 is something broken or not working?? and as this tv is in madurai i am not able to call customer support to ask for a resolution as i dont know the model no.im thinking of conecting my pc to this crt once this issue has been sorted out. any help would be appreciated.I heard in a foreign forum that one must use a special code to activate the component for samsung is it so??
