Hi. This is gonna be my first atmos setup since i am upgrading from Onkyo HTIB 5.1 system. I have shortlisted Denon x1800 for my setup. In search of an active subwoofer. Got a quote for Klipsche R100 sw sub for 43k. But polk hts10 is slightly expensive. Is it worth the cost difference.

My room size is small. 10ftx10ft.

If you have budget then think of REL. Then you will not look here and there. Secondly in my opinion as per your room sizer you need to take some help from a reasonable advisor before spending money. Rest is your call.

I'm more inclined towards the Polk. That said, you can't go wrong with the Klipsch. Both are decent sub woofers for their asking price.
My preference for klipsche is due to the fact that i have already purchased klipsche ceiling speakers from usa. And in future i will mostly replace onkyo speakers with klipsche reference system speakers. So the sound signature will match across all speakers. My advisor told to go with onkyo 5100 receiver to match with klipsche. But its too costly. Denon x1800 is quite reasonable for the same specs.

Woofer is something which ill not change in near future. Hence dont want to regret later if i missed a good woofer for small price difference.

REL has many models. Can you suggest which model of REL to look for. I am finding some models cheaper than Klipsche but not sure of the performance. And yes since its my first Atmos setup im taking help from an advisor.

Kkipsxh R100 or R120 sufficent. And you can bargain. As R100 you can get for less price.

After moving through several subs over years, I think your room modes crucially determine the SQ from the sub. I have a decent REL sub (Predator 2), and still have a massive 8db dip in the 40hz to 70hz region. The sub is unable to perform when Dirac tries to correct for this dip. My REL was visibly struggling. My conversation with few experienced FMs revealed that most subs may not correct more than 3/4 db. I then excluded this dip from the correction range for now. I will have to move around the sub in my room and see which spot needs least correction.
The takeaway : Room modes can really take away the pleasure or having a good sub output even with “best” or expensive subs. If you can, that is, your budget permits and have the space, aim for at least dual smaller subs. I have made the mistake often going for a single large sub and struggle with room modes. Better still, before you invest, if you can get to borrow a sub and experiment with moving the sub around in your room, that will give you a good sense of how room modes have an impact on sub SQ.

So the sound signature will match across all speakers.
A sub woofer does not really carry any sound signature in relation to your main speakers. Its strictly for low frequency.

The Onkyo TX-NR5100 is best avoided. It is as cheap as receivers go and is coming up to 4+ years of age as a model
