Hello Friends,

I am moving from CRT to a better wall mounted television and need your help in selecting the best option. After all research and reviewing posts over internet, i have shortlisted:

1. Toshiba LED 39L3300 (37000/-)
2. Toshiba LED 39P2305 (34000/-)
3. Samsung Plasma 43H4100 (34500/-)
4. Samsung Plasma 43H4900 (39800/-)

The prices quoted to me are as mentioned above. Budget is stretched to max at 40K so no going beyond.

Looking for picture & sound quality, durability, power consumption and customer service as top criteria's for finalization.

3D of no value to me. Hence H4900 just for picture quality in my list. Demo'd H4100 & H4900 but didn't get a chance to see toshiba 39 inches led's.

Major usage would be watching daily soaps on weekdays. Weekends it would be majorly movies downloaded from torrents. DTH yet to be finalized for HD or normal.

Need your guidance. Plasma lovers pls remember everyone except me is against plasma in my home. So pls dont be biased... :D

Hi

It would be a better choice to go for the TV which offers the best connectivity, fulfil your requirements, picture quality with good sound etc....the most important is warranty......For me my personal view and a few others...Toshiba seems to be a good value for money with 3 years warranty.....

There are threads on Sony, Toshiba and Samsung on HFV, you may want to go through them and see user feedback....there are online reviews over the internet.

End of the day it all depends what appeals to you and your budget.

I personally own 39P2305 and I am satisfied with its quality. Most important thing I liked is 3 year warranty which you won't get it from any other manufacture. Wall mount and installation is also free. The service guy will bring the wall mount kit and install it for you!. USB reads almost all Video formats which is nice. This is also applicable on 39L3300.

Samsung Plasma 43H4100 (34500/-) - do not go for this. This is not even a 720p panel. Looking at long term, suggest to at least get a 720p panel.

You can either go for Samsung H4900 or there is also a Lg plasma in the same price range. Plasma works well in low ambient light so if you have a lot of light in your room, suggest to go with LED. If you can control the lighting with curtains / blinds, or if you will do mostly night time viewing then plasma will be hard to beat for the price!!!

Thanks guys... just another quick query... what if i raise my budget to approx 60K... which one wud be best LED in that range taking consideration abt service and warranty as well along with performance???

You can get the Sony w700 near that price which is now among the top in its range. You really can save some money and go with Toshiba/Samsung because for someone coming from CRT these will give the beat bang for the buck. You can think of upgrading later in 4-5 years.

Got Airtel HD+ mega 12 months pack for 5450 only... TV is great but audio is a concern... any suggestions if settings can do some change or additional speakers required???

just let it run naturally...

I like warm colors though

sharpness should be 50-50 balance so it adds depth to the picture
reducing colors might help getting more sharpness and natural PQ

now the money you saved after extending the budget upto 60k, you can
consider a good HTIB...just a thought:cool:
