I have a Sony Home theater (DAV-DZ510) and I wanna connect it to my Micromax LED (40K360FHD)

I can connect it using hdmi and I get the Sony HT screen, but when I play USB or programs from my set top, the HT gives no sound.

On my TV I have 3 hdmi's and 1 AV in and 1 out, headphones.

Is it possible to connect it thru hdmi to rca converter so I get the sound from the HT (hdmi in the TV and rca in the HT) OR

Can I connect it thru rca to 3.5mm (3.5mm in TV headphone and rca in HT)

What I want is that whatever I play on the TV, the audio shall be output through the HT. Is that possible?

Connect the TV RCA audio out to the Sony audio in and you will be fine.
You can connect with the headphone out also but you will get no sound from TV speakers just like when connecting a headphone.

would AV out be the tv's rca ?

the tv has a av out which is red yellow and green and so does the HT have one.

what cable will i need rc to rc?

to add to it my HT also has an audio in, so is it possible to connect 3.5mm in the audio in of HT and rc to tv out?

RCA connector types:
1. red+white - stereo audio
2. Yellow - composite video (lesser quality)
3. red+green+blue - component video (better quality)

Connect TV red+white out to HT red+white in with an RCA to RCA cable and you will have TV and USB audio from your HT.

One last question bro, will I get stereo or 5.1 sound?

Now if your TV has digital out, then you can get 5.1 audio from Sony HT provided your TV doesn't downmix it.
Also if TV has ARC and so with Sony HT(I don't think it has)then you should get 5.1 from HT when TV plays it.
If both the options are not available then av out(stereo out)of tv can be connected to Sony HT where you can get 2 ch audio.

Stereo.
Your HT has an optical audio in. By any chance does your TV have optical out? If it has, 5.1 is possible.

hey buddy, its right my HT has optical auido in and my tv has coaxial (digital audio out)

i tried connecting tv to HT thru RC sound quality sux. i also tried composite but the sound is not upto the mark. the output of my HT is 1000rms but it seems i'm getting not even 300rms.

the question is, is there a cable that can connect the HT's optical in to the tv's coaxial (digital audio out) ? is yes from where to buy. i'm in mumbai (india)
