Any recommendations ? I understand that this is an entry level headphone and an upgrade in the source may or may not make a difference. This for use at work from laptop. I was looking at UDAC or E7. Anyone currently using this headphone and can give thier feedback of using any DAC/Amp with it would be helpful.

thanks
Sachin

Sachin, I would rather spend that 60-100$( what you are looking to spend on dac/amp/udac) on a better pair of cans. That will make far more difference imho.

any more feedback ? Also any recommendations for headphones in the $ 50 to 100 range. A freind is coming back from US in 2 weeks time, good time to order :)

check ebay.in a lot of us have bought the udac from there for rs.3000. can prove a good buy to you for not just headphones but all and then later when you get your better pair of headphones it would prove more worthwhile

Sachin, Pristinenote has the udac on offer for a limited period for 2750INR, a great deal imho.
However, I would still suggest spending that on a better pair of cans( or IEMs for that matter). There are many that have high sensitivity and work well without an amp. It will give you far more sonic pleasure.

The Grados are good but the fun starts at the slightly higher models. The 60i is a great entry-level headphone.

I use the ATH-M50 and it works great without additional amplification. Sells for about 7K. Check rupakb's thread about the same.
