Hey guys,

My name's Deepak, an audiophile from Chennai. I reside now in the US where I've been for the past 5 yrs. I will be moving back to Chennai this December and wish to get acquainted with fellow audiophiles from the region.

Cheers
Deepak

Welcome back Deepak. Used to live in Troy, visited Dearborn a lot, as we had an office there.
Cheers,
Sid

Hello Sid, nice to meet you :)
What a small world right?

I remember another person on SlickDeals by the name Sid who also happened to be at Troy. It's not you by any chance is it?

My friend, who just returned to India himself, used to work under TCS at Troy (I work at Ford).

No that must be somebody else. I used to work at Lear in Southfield and we had an office in Dearborn. I do miss Detroit metro now that I have been gone 4 years, moved back in 2009. Especially Stony Creek park at this time(fall) was excellent, hanging out at Royal Oak, Audio stores in Birmingham and Farmington Hills, NPR Jazz in the evenings etc. However I do not miss the Jan and Feb 20 degree F day time temps, or the 6 inch snow falls..
Cheers,
Sid

thank you everyone....I am more than excited to be a part of this company...hope to meet you all soon (Jan)

After living with Anthems and Oppos and PSBs and Peachtrees I was initially very apprehensive about the scene in India. But now I know that many of the brands have at least a representation in India when ten years back such a thing was almost unthinkable...add to that the constant support from the community and things start looking mych brighter. In fact to my surprise, I even found out that a couple of brands (international) are actually cheaper in India. :yahoo:

I know what you mean Sid. Trust me!. Losing my Audiophiliac ways was my biggest concern in coming back to India. And although, the prices on many of the gear in India does give me a scare, I'm at least delighted to know that there is a substantial group of audiophiles back home who appreciate what I appreciate and are collectively helping the industry grow so that there is something to look forward to in the near future...

That, non-availability of models for demo and a very small pre-owned market will be the biggest concerns equipmentwise for an Audio enthusiast returing to India - at-least what I have been facing. Not to scare you but just for your info.
Cheers,
Sid

I agree!. And I already have a good idea of what it would be like. In the end no matter how good or bad the scene is, I guess I will get used to it after a few months.
