Hello,

Please help me make a decision about which AVR to choose for the following speakers setup

Paradigm Monitor 7 (x2)
Paradigm Center 1
Paradigm Surround 1 (x2)
A Good Subwoofer

I am not sure 1913 is available in India, but I'm certainly a bit confused about the choice between 1713 and 2113. Please note, the 7.1 setup of 2113 is not an issue, as I have enough space to put the two extra speakers later on, and they will likely be in front if and when they are added.

My primary concerns are matching of sound output between AVR and the speaker set above, ensuring no speaker fatigue (or burnout?) results from this setup and that I get good quality results for my room which is described here: http://www.hifivision.com/home-theater/44022-sony-n9100w-opinion-advice.html#post495900

Also price for both is within budget, so as long as the concerns are mitigated, I'm good to purchase.

Many thanks in advance.

Can you comment on the suitability of Monitor 9 FS pair for my living room? Would they sound muddy due to more bass in my room?

Fornax,

You started the first thread with a budget of 75k and now you are going close to 2L. I'd advice you to plan and stay with your budget and not to hike up.

If you are going to be watching movies and occasionally listening to music even a sub + sat or a bookshelf based setup will do the job given your room dimensions.

Or if you are an avid listener of music , drop the AVR and 5.1 plans and get a decent stereo system (Stereo integrated amp + Bookshelf speakers & Stands).

Thanks Kittu.

I started off with a open budget to be honest and was looking at Bose. Their prices warranted a thorough research which is how I landed here. I was looking at BS and hence the price cap of 75K, but after hearing the completeness of FS I cannot help but extend.

Also, I am having my unit cut to accomodate the FS, so its much north of 2 lacs :-)

I think that the monitor 9s should sound good, no muddiness I assure you, and the bass can always be controlled. Furniture in the room, carpets, wood paneling will also help; do a search for bass traps on the forum.

Thanks. That's very reassuring. I'll try and learn some more on bass traps as suggested.

My living room layout and plan is attached to give you a fair picture of the furniture and panels in place.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
