Im looking to get my first HiFi system soon and need to finalize the AVR first.

I have looked at Denon 1713 specs and price and they look good to me.
Its around 36k .

Do you have other suggestions or other brand AVR, which are better than this for the same price range ? ;)

Depends on your need, budget and room size.

1713 for 36k looks very high for me. 36k is probably MRP and you should look at around 15% discount on it. But you can get 2113 (which is two steps above 1713) for 42k-43k.
If your budget for AVR is around 25k then you should also look at yamaha 671 which will be around 36k. But sourcing 671 is little difficult now that 673 has been released.

But my suggestion is:
1. first finalize your speakers. Because you may probably live with it for 10+yrs easily. You might keep upgrading your AVR meanwhile.
2. Then find an AVR which matches your speakers.
3. If budget cannot be relaxed then go incremental by sourcing speakers for L/R/C and AVR. Later add sub and surround.
The downside is that it is a time consuming process (it took be over 3 months to finalize) and you are likely to exceed your budget.

All boils down to your
1. need - Movies or music or both. If music only then stick to stereo.
2. budget - A decent 5.1 setup will cost you over 85k.
3. room size - acoustics matter

Room Size : 12 x 20

How is 2113 2 steps ahead of 1713 ? And its 2113 market price 42k ? Kolkata ? Do they ship ?

For speakers, I will open a new thread, once I finalize the AVR here.

So, tell me how 2113 surpass 1713 and then lets talk pricing.

higher priced avrs are
1.off course more powerful
2.many many stuffs which we will never use.

example
can you find a 55 inch tv without 3d,smart tv,wi fi..etc etc....just a full hd panel 55 inch......no model...just like that.

1912 or 2113...get any of them..

1713 will be a little weak to drive floorstanders.although a 20 ft *12 ft romm can be also filled by bookshelves also....but since you have a personal inclination(we all have) towards floorstanders..so a powerfull avr is neccesary...

2113 at 42k to 43k is market price with bill and warranty in Bangalore. It will be more or less the same in most metros. More on pricing you have to talk to your dealer or someone in your city will be able to help you out better. Ofcourse you can get it shipped at some extra cost to your place.

compare the spec for 1713 and 2113 to know the difference. Denon latest product lineup is 1713, 1913 (not heading for India now), 2113, 2313 etc. I think you can do this homework yourself.

Ok 2113 for 42k is fine.

So, now we need to decide on the speakers. Lets see, if I can handle the costs well without cursing my wallet.

I will open a new thread now for speaker recommendation.

And Im confused between 1713 and 2113.

I dont see any different between them, except 5.1 and 7.1 system .

I dont think, I can ever afford a 7.1 speakers set, so why get a 7.1 system ?

And I dont need video upscaling as well, as I only download 1080p videos.

1713 is 85w/channel and 2113 is 95w/channel.

What else am I missing ?

there is no clarity on what your need. My suggestion was based on 1713 at 36k your price and 2113 at 42-43k my price.
There are other minor differences in 1713 and 2113. 1713 might struggle to drive FS which 2113 might be able to do better. You can setup 5,1 with 2113 but not 7.1 with 1713.
My room is little bigger than yours (14x20) and I personally think 7.1 or 7.2 is required for my room. Anyway I am also planning to start with 5.1 and later upgrade to 7.1 or 7.2 by adding necessary speakers.
No body required 4k up scaling as you dont get TVs that has this resolution yet. Might not be in next 2-3 yrs in the affordable bracket.

It is up to you which one you choose based on budget and need

^
i think the op is asking whther the extra 10w and extra 8k is really meaningful to drive floorstanders....as the other feutures he doesnot need...

Exactly. As far as I assume, it should drive it perfectly fine, but may be it needs demo . All this confusion is just because , there is no HiFi store in my city.

oh man !!! dont tell me you finalized 1713 without audition and just because of the budget :(
The low end AVRs from denon are rated 6ohm. If so I am sure 1713 fall in the same category. However I know people using 1612 paired with 4ohm speakers .... which might not be healthy for AVR in long run.

I have seen 50w amp driving FS crazy which AVR rated 90w could not match. Hence I suggest you dont go by just these numbers ... only thing that you should trust is your ears while we can only give you inputs and opinion.

What sounds good for me might not be good for you. And dont commit the mistake of selecting HT based on just budget without audition.

So which one did you buy finally?

I currently have an old Yamaha V420 driving Jamo E855 FS and centre (maybe underpowered but the amp is pretty old).

I'm pretty much going crazy with the vast range of amps available nowadays.
