Dear FM's,

Planning to setup a HT in my living room (dimension 16x16) in couple of months. Wanted to have a good HT + Projector setup (which will do after setting up of audio part).

Need your expert advice on the below combination. My budget is around 1.25K

AV Receiver - Denon 1713
Front Speakers - Polk - RTi A1 (125 W, 2-Way Speaker Bass Reflex Bookshelves)
Rear Speakers - Polk - FXi A4 (150 W, 2-Way 3 Speaker Bipole/Dipole Surrounds)
Centers - Polk - CSi A4 (200 W, 2-Way 3 Speaker Bass Reflex Centre
Sub Woofer - Polk - PSW 125 (300 W, 12 Front Firing Downward Ported Type)

Also, is it good to think abt Denon 2113 + the above combination. Later migrate to 7.1.

Yet to have audition of the above combination.

I am from Coimbatore region and a newbie to HT. After going through many of the threads, understand ProFx is good. Is there any other suggestion on the dealer?

I have attached the layout of my living room. would the speaker placement be correct (the front and rear speakers are to be wall mounter)

you have a good budget. No doubt RTi are great and mate well with Denon, but why not also hear other speakers...........PSB, Mordaunt Short, Paradigm, Monitor Audio, etc.........hear as many systems and then decide.

Don't be in a rush to go 7.1............A good 5.1 is good enough, can always upgrade later.

Welcome buddy... Yes Denon 2113 would be better... Many in the forum already have Denon + Polk combo.....

Could you share with us the final price that you will be paying for the speaker setup (5.1) excluding receiver ?

From my experience with the same speakers, but with 1513, it was awesome. I think 1713 will do even better.

I dont think you need 2113, unless you want to install FS speakers or a 7.1 setup. If the room is big enough, then 7.1 may be justifiable.

i heard 2113 with csia6...was very very good for cinema...
but you must demo other as well..
go for 2113...chop off rears now..if budget is problem
save money and get a better sub...sub is not that good you mentioned..i heard the big brother of it some 550 from polk and frankly did not like it at all...sound was attacking my ears instead my body..

2113 with csia6 was although super good

Thanks aakashr. Google for the brands.. No dealers in coimbatore. But will defenitely check for other brands like Yamaha.

Thanks sidkap. Living Room is 16X16 feet with opening on one side to dining. If budget permits will go for 2113 else stick with 1713

Any views on the Denon 1713/1913 +the OWM 5 from Polk?

Can both front an rear speakers be the OWM 5 along with the foll?

Centers - Polk - CSi A4 (200 W, 2-Way 3 Speaker Bass Reflex Centre
Sub Woofer - Polk - PSW 125 (300 W, 12 Front Firing Downward Ported Type)

pls suggest any other series as well, only criteria is that the F+R speakers have to wall mounted..

If you are from Coimbatore, you have to visit AUDISEE. Have you been there? You can meet Mohammed, he is the only guy I know in India who has every HT certification there is. I am sure he will be able to help.

Thanks. I am not in Coimbatore now. Will be there around August.
Will check with him. Meanwhile will also write a mail.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
