Came across this 2013 E Series and X series AVR in Denon US website.

Three E series will replace the entry level models

AVR-E200 ( Will replace AVR-1513 ) $249
AVR-E300 ( will replace AVR-1713 ) $399
AVR-E400 7.1 network AVR $599

X- series looks to be mid/high end

AVR-X1000, AVR-X2000, AVR-X3000 and AVR-X4000

AVR-X1000 ( $449) is similar to AVR-1713.

Thanks,
Sunil

Yeah. It's all cosmetic changes and marketing gimmicks to hike up the price. Wait for 4 to 5 month and they will be available for big discounts. I think receivers have reached saturation. No new ideas.

Not really buddy...Very soon, entry - Mid range receivers will have very good video processor in it...

For Ex. My receiver Onkyo TX NR 818 has HQV video processor which upscales anything less than 1080p to 1080p thru HDMI....& it looks really superb.....

Most of the TV HD signals being 1080i in India, this is a good feature to have on our receivers....

It is also mentioned in the manual that it can upscale PC signals via VGA on the receiver to 1080p output thru HDMI...(Am yet to check this feature)..

Auro 3D will make it soon on receivers...

Very surprised to know that the video processing unit does the real upscale on your receiver. So how does the SD channel contents look like ?
A small request - If possible and when you get free time, if you can post some photo snaps of the upscaled video images, that would be great ... nothing urgent though ...
By the way - what was the price of your TX-NR-818 ?

Sure....I wanted to write a detailed review of Onkyo TX NR 818 here...But wanted to spend more time with it so that i can post actual user experience...:)

I bought the receiver thru my friend in Kuwait for 44K (including the wireless adapter)...

Sure .. Please take your time and many of us would like to see details from a real user experience ... I have seen AV receivers around 50k budget and I found nothing great about their video upscaling.

Yeah please give us some ideas about how good is up-scaling.

I have a videocon HD DTH... I believe most of the HD channels are 1080i/50 Hz 16:9 Ratio....So it upscales the content to 1080p/50 Hz...Upscaling is really good....Upscaled pictures are really adorable:)..

Coming to SD channels, i think they are in 480i & 4:3 aspect ratio..So these are also upscaled....Fabulous wouldn't be the right word, But very good.....

Coming to watching movies from WD TV Media player, the AVR outputs this in 1080/24.....Only movies are output in 1080p/24..The rest is always 1080p/50&60..

Technically i understand the difference between 24 & 50/60, but couldn't observe anything... Am i missing anything here ?

This is a very good deal. I guess the entry level NR-414 and NR-515 itself costs more than 40K India

Will there by any chance of price reduction for the 2012 models ( specifically AVR-1713) once the 2013 models arrive in India?

Specifications wise I do not see much difference between EX-300 and 1713.

ProFx price in the website is Rs.36,900.
What is the best price of the receiver ( with bill and warranty ) ? Anyone recently purchased?

Thanks,
Sunil

Is the E series coming to India? I can only see the X series on the denon Asia pacific website.

I think X1000 is the replacement for 1713. X series has Multi EQ XT. E series has only Multi EQ. 1713 has Multi EQ XT.

I bought 1713 from profx Bangalore for 32,400 a week back.

Dear FMs, I brought AVR 1713 some days back and have not used the system, Should I speak to my dealer and get an upgrade? Are the changes only cosmetic and a name change to make some extra dollars?

X1000 will be the equivalent of 1713.
As per the specifications there are no major upgrades.
No changes in power specs.

There are some added networking features, cosmetic changes etc.
