Hi. I got a Denon 2113 yesterday.

My media player is a Samsung BDP5100 BluRay Player.

I have a USB with some movies which are downloaded ones, but has 6 channel audio DTS , around 10GB movie files.

And I have another BluRay disk for Tron Legacy.

I started off trying first the BluRay .

Clicked on AUDIO button on Samsung BDP remote control and selected DTS HD Multi Channel .

But on Denon AVR display, it doesnt show DTS HD ? :o

Am I missing something ?

If Im not wrong, when a BluRay is played , the Denon should show DTS HD on the AVR display , right ?

And then I played the USB , and clicked on AUDIO button on the remote .
It showed, 5.1 MULTI CHANNEL DTS .

But still the Denon says AUTO .

And I have P L II CINEMA MOVIE SOUND MODE active .

What am I missing ?

I can place the Denon in DIRECT .

But Samsung wala has no settings to show BITSTREAM UNPROCESSED or anything.

Damn this samsung.

When I click on AUDIO, it only shows the list of audio the BluRay has .

Thats all.

Anyone using BDP5100 Samsung wala bluray player ?

are you seeing samsung settings display in your tv/samsung itself...check carefully in tv...
dont click directly on audio shortcut buton.go from settings and then audio and video etc

Yes all checked.

It has no extra settings.

May be , because its a cheap BluRay player, thats why ?

Can anyone throw some light ?

Its SAMSUNG BDP5100 .

And if I have to get a new BluRay player, then which one and link and price ?

Should be able to region free, as Im importing BluRay from Amazon UK from next month.

You should select as Bitstream & not multich/LPCM.

Not getting that option bro :(
Dont know, what to do. I just threw 1.7 lacs yesterday on this complete setup and such small thing is depressing

Settings will in the player system menu and not the actual blu-ray disc menu. Remove the disc from the menu and check system menu, audio settings. Look into the BDP manual.

I downloaded the 5300 model's manual. I expect that 5100 is much similar to the model. In the Audio settings, check the "Digital Output". Select the option "Bitstream (unprocessed)". This will pass the audio as is to the AVR and AVR will do the decoding.

Your player should have a settings menu and under it there will be audio settings where you canset the audio to bitstream. Some players require that you seject the disks for accessing the settings. The audio setting that you selected is of the bd disk and this is different from bdp audio settings.

I selected the Uncompressed (audiophile) and it started working instantly.

Do I need to keep on direct mode on sound on denon or use cinema mode only?

Now DTS shows on the AVR display.

Many BDps have "Bitstream" as option & in your case uncompressed. Now using DSP is simply your choice which ever you like.Have you done auto setup?
Auddyssy makes good difference & to me direct sound is not enjoyable once you have done perfect Auddyssy set up with provided microphone.

DSP ?

I selected PCM and it shows me those 2 options :

BITSTREAM ( RE-ENCODE )
BITSTREAM ( AUDIOPHILE )

I selected the 2nd one and then the AVR started showing DTS HD MA . :yahoo:

Then I put the sound on CINEMA MODE and awesome experience.

Well, I have still asked the ProFX guys to visit my home next week and check my setup once , to make sure, I have done it all right. :clapping:

And I dint like AUDDYSSY setup , as it was increasing the treble, which I dint like.

I managed by manual method. I have set the levels according to my own ears only. :ohyeah:

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
