All,

I was checking for teh denon receiver price in india. I couldnt actually get the price of X2100 anywhere , looks like it is not available in india yet.

I was comparing the prices of X2000 and X3000 in INDIA vs US . They seem to huge difference 55900 vs 500 USD , 91900 vs 600 USD

and price of x2100 is also 600 USD .

is it worth to get the receiver from US . What are the implaication of shipping or getting in teh check in baggage . Do we need to mention to handle with care ? and approx how much wud be the duty is i have to pay ? and how much the coverter would cost?

all the prices in INR are from Profx and USD are from Amazon US.

Kindly advice as i will be travelling in couple of days .

I too plan to buy Denon AVR 1100 or 2100. Both are available with most dealers in Bangalore e.g. ProFX, Music Ranch etc. The MRP for 2100 is Rs 66900. You should be able to get 8-12% on the MRP.

Yes, the India prices as usual are way higher than US prices - don't know when that gap will reduce

If you are ok taking a chance with no warranty, yes, it is worth getting it from the US.

It's better to get it as check in baggage. Just check in with its original packing and put 'Fragile', 'Handle with care' tags all over the box.

You are allowed Rs 45000/- worth of goods without paying any duty. So you pay about 30% over and above that value. So if your receiver cost you about Rs 50k (after USD - INR conversion), you pay 30% on Rs. 5000 which is not very high. The step down converter will cost you something about Rs. 1500/ to Rs. 2000/.

I feel after paying approx 57k (50+5+2) it's better to buy from india it will cost roughly around 63k with warranty.
