I am having my flat painted. Can someone please explain to me how I should dismantle and put away my Linn Sondek LP12 system? Once done, I will have to reassemble the LP12. I will need instructions for that too.

Disconnect power supply cable of TT.
Disconnect RCA cables (x2) from phono preamp (or your amp).
Disconnect ground wire from phono preamp (or your amp).
Carefully wind and tie up RCA cables and ground wire (I'm assuming these cables are all attached to the TT).
Use a short wire to securely tie the tonearm to the arm rest so that the arm can't move.
If your cartridge has a cover, use the cover.
Keep the TT aside in a safe loft or corner where it won't be knocked about by anyone.

There is no need for further dismantling.

I had an LP 12 . The first thing I would do is to remove the platter and sub-platter even if you ever have to move it even from one table to next. If you move with the platter, the suspension alignment can change. Once it changes, it's not going to be easy to realign .
