I am currently using a USB DVD Drive hooked up to my laptop, and then streaming it from there to a bluetooth reciever to my stereo setup via a coax dac to listen to them.
I was considering buying a dedicated CD player, but then realized that I have a transport and a DAC, and just need the stuff in between
I think a Rasperry pi with a lcd screen and a remote should be enough to implement it. I read there are some issues with rpi detecting cd drives. Mine comes with USB drive emulation for smart TV's etc, so I hope it should not be a problem.
Does this sound feasible, and one set up, will it work just as plug and play as a standalone cd player, and any advice on how to achieve it would be greatly appreciated.
