Hello,

I saw this product https://futechaudios.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=52
iIt has HDMI (ARC), coaxial, optical inputs and 5.1 analogue output.

I was wondering, if I can connect Xbox series X to tv via HDMI (non ARC port) and connect this device to TV via HDMI ARC port. In tv audio settings, set output as HDMI ARC and I can get the 5.1 analogue output from the device.

Is this doable?
With this, can I still control the volume of analogue 5.1 with tv remote?

Thanks.

No it will not work this way ,yu can connect xbox to any hdmi port, then you havevto take optical out from tv which is multi channel surround nd feed it into futech but remembr it will process dolby digital only no dolby digital plus, its costly though,i would suggest yu can search for an old av reciever with 5.1 output anslog in this range

Just wanted to provide an update a year later.
Recently they released a newer version of this product (https://futechaudios.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=53)
I bought this and tested.

Now I can control the volume of my analogue 5.1 speakers with TV remote.
Also with this, now I can get 5.1 audio from amazon prime, youtube along with movie files played via kodi. With earlier setup (optical using rush DAC) I was getting 5.1 audio only via kodi and no volume control with tv remote.

How are you connecting this to your TV? HDMI Arc or Optical?

Great find!. Out of stock though.

I am assuming you have double checked that it's actually decoding 6 discreet channels instead of simulating them. Also if possible can you post some pictures of the back of the unit? The website doesn't seem to have any

Yes, I have these test files with most of the audio formats, And all of them worked correctly by sending sound to correct channel.
Attached pictures.

Thank you man. Very helpful. I was considering getting something like this for the longest time for the bedroom TV. Just for 3.1 use

If you are planning to buy, be sure to buy only software version v2.5 of v2 product (you may have to confirm with seller about this.)

Was looking at this & a similar Gstar unit. In your newer futech, is it possible to set the volume levels for each channel?

My previous set up was with rush dac, via optical.
Sound quality I feel same as that. (I am not an audiophile)
But main difference is now this one support 5.1 in prime movies and YouTube natively. Also I can control volume of 5.1 system via tv remote.

Just want to provide an update.
After 2 months of usage, some times voice become cut off.
I contacted https://futechaudios.com/ even though I bought this product from some 3rd party vendor, they agreed to repair it free cost.
I shipped the item to https://futechaudios.com and they replaced the board and sent back to me.
They said, it was some issue with DAC on the board.
