Hi everyone,

I would like to know if the clear voice II function work when the LG LED Tv is connected to home theatre system.

Thanks.

ideally ti shoud be working because its the software that increases the vocal sound..

so if you connect it to any speakers.. it should be working.. i will chk it today and get back..

No it wont if you are not getting your sound processed by the TV. And when you are using a home theater (while watching movies etc), the TV sound is ideally not used.

Clear Voice II is a sound processing algorithm implemented by the LG TV's internal sound processing unit.

If you choose to output the sound of the TV to the AVR i.e. to watch TV channels etc, it will work.

ok

Do you mean Audio out from the tv. So can i connect 2 speakers L&R to the Audio out of the TV will it work?

No, audio out would not have enough power to drive the speakers.

In sound options, there is an option to select what kind of output is given to audio out.

1. "Monitor Out", this will give unprocessed audio to home theater
2. Other option will give processed audio, so if you have applied clear voice, that will work too.

If u connect the AVR / amplifier to the monitor out of the TV, then the TVs sound processing is bypassed. If u connect the variable out (at the rear of the tv) to the AVR, the tv's sound processing is enabled. If variable out is connected, clear voice is enabled, so is volume control on the TV.

Thanks to all of you.

I'll give a try and come back to you'll if i have any other problem on my new 26LE5300 LG LED LCD tv.

Thanks once again

I'm sorry for bumping this thread, but since my question is related to this, I thought it would be better than making a new one. :)

So I'm getting this for Christmas:

LG 32LD350 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV

I realize it isn't that amazing of a TV, but it's within my price range, and I've always liked LGs. And I really liked the Clear Voice II technology as hearing people talk and understanding them has always bothered me on movies that have rather loud music mixed with people talking.

Anyways... My question is, if I hook up a set of speakers (2.1 speakers with a subwoofer) through the optical audio out on the back of the TV, will Clear Voice still function? Or does it require you use the speakers that came with the TV?

There seems to be conflicting answers on my searches and even in this thread (or I just read it incorrectly. :P)

I admit I do not know that much about audio-related things, so any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

I have a LG TV too, in that TV you can select what kind of output goes through Optical or analogue audio out.

If you select "Monitor Out", this will send audio without any processing. I.e. without applying clear voice.

If you turn that off, Audio output would be processed audio, and will have clear voice applied to it.

Oh okay, that makes sense! Thanks so much for your help (and a quick reply)! :)
