Hi

I have recently bought Sony X75L 55 inches. In specs it's written it supports Dolby Audio. Nowwhere it's written it supports Dolby Atmos. I want to know whether it will support Atmos Passthrough (for playing in Soundbar). Tv supports eARC.

Regards

Sony 8000 series supports Dolby Vision plus atmos. Not sure about 7000 series.

Is there any way of Knowing if it will allow Passthrough for Atmos ?
Do you get atmos sound on the TV. I am pretty sure that if it plays Atmos and has eARC it would passthrough Atmos. On my LG TV, it shows atmos playback whenever an atmos track is played when using internal speakers.

If you have an AVR that supports ATMOS, you can feel the difference should you have height speakers. Sound bars only throw upwards firing sonic content proclaiming to be ATMOS. In Netflix, if a title has ATMOS displayed, check it out if the content has some effects like upward throw.

I have not seen any content on prime showing Atmos on TV. Eg Top gun: Maverick shows 5.1.

Unfortunately I don't have a AVR. I wanted to buy a soundbar, so wanted to know whether i should consider Atmos Soundbar. Otherwise it will be a loss for me. I tried in prime, Atmos content is showing as 5.1

I don't think it matters for a soundbar. It is just a gimmick unless you have an AVR/home theater with discrete speakers.

Some soundbars have something called upwards firing ATMOS mimicing models that qualifies as ATMOS for their marketing purposes. Although for the snobs it is a mickey mouse Atmos sound stage.
