Durability of sony led tv's

I want to know on average how long a sony led tv of 40 inches lasts.(I want to keep it for a minimum period of 3 years). Is it possible?

Interesting question - With all products now made in china its very difficult to get those Japanese Quality of the 80s so its your luck that matters regarding longivity of any electronic product......)

All mid-range/high range models of sony led are made in Malaysia...Longevity-wise sony leds are better than leds of samsung,lg,panasonic and others.

But sony is not providing AMC options like lg, plus sony is restricting the warranty by putting lot of conditions unlike lg and samsung.

Sony is giving 2 yr extended warranty..yes there are conditions..you can go with lg..but as lg's pic quality sucks so I went with sony.

Then which manufacturer according to you has most longevity for led tv's.

May i know how long since you have the tv with you.Yes me too agree on the same point. So i am in a dilemma i.e whether to go for longevity(lg) v/s picture quality(sony).

My tv recently completed 2000 hrs..for leds this running hour only matters.

Taking only the 2012 line up into consideration, Lg is definite not at the forefront. Sharp, Sony, Samsung are more reliable. Too many complaints of Lg 2012 tvs going kaput within one year. So if you think going with Lg means peace of mind, you should think again.

Samsung and Sony durability is similar only. LG might have less durability.

2012 is only 9 months old. Yet so many complaints about LG ?

And anyway even overall LG TV's are far from being the most reliable. But at the end of the day there is very little difference between all top brands and it's more down to your luck how reliable YOUR set is gonna be

So lay emphasis on PQ and not "surveys and hearsay" superior reliability.

My led hx800 is 2 years old almost now, no issues.
