Does anyone know any place that would accept e-Waste (old modems/PC/Key board etc) in Bangalore? I don't want to throw it away in Garbage if some of them can be recycled. Thanks.

Environmental awareness is so scarce in India. I am glad you are thinking about disposing eWaste responsibly.

Recycling eWaste is not something that can be taken casually. Many western countries are using developing/3rd world countries as eWaste dumping yard. Fortunately, recently there seems to have been some awareness on that front.

Back to your question. See if the company whose product you are trying to dispose has a recycling policy. Most companies do, as it has been made mandatory in many countries and conglomerates must have a proper policy around it. If not, don't throw it with domestic garbage. Sell it to local kabaadi, regardless you get any decent money or not. At least he will try to get the most out of it by extracting parts from it and separating the rest. Hopefully, this will go into right direction from there on. This is much better than to just dispose them with domestic garbage.

Some software companies have ewaste-bins. I work in RMZ Ecospace campus, which has numerous ewaste-bins. I'm sure other campuses must have similar bins. Talk to your friends. Worst case kabaadi-wala is always there and some of them do take-in keyboards, monitors, etc.

Putting such a waste in garbage is a very bad.
