Hey guys i am planning to buy my first 5.1 HTIB, Edifier DA5000 pro, And my hall size is 16 feet length and 10 feet width. Is this HT enough to fill my room with rich 5.1 surround sound? Or should i go more advanced? My budget is around Rs.12 - 13,000 not more than that. How about genius SW-HF6000 is that a good HT? Will this at least give me good surround sound if edifier doesn't? I heard that this edifier speakers are so powerful and especially this model can beat any HTIB that is under 20k so after hearing that i planned to hook up this to my hall i was first planning to hook this up in my room which is 10 feet in length and 8 feet in width.

Hi,

Depending on your expectations, requirements and budget there are ample systems available. A HTiB would not do full justice for a proper HT experience. Entry Level HTs like Yamaha / Denon / Pioneer which are available from 24k onwards would provide the real experience.

The key is to audition as many available systems possible with your kind of music and movies and then start shortlisting those whose appearance, performance appeal to you inclusive of budget. You may be required to stretch your budget a bit to get something good...the call is yours....

If budget is somewhat a challenge and you want to own something good for starters, if you are open to owning pre owned systems, there are quite a few good devices / systems available on HiFi Ads, Sale by owner and other online classified websites...you may just get lucky and get excellent gear!

All the best
