Edifier da5000 pro

Recently i had purchased edifier da5000 pro and i am using it with airtel HD setup box but i m not getting 5.1 surround effect.
setup box do have only optical out for 5.1 but the edifier have 5.1 port.DO any way to connect the both ??

ALso please suggest a cheap and best sound card to drive edifier da5000 pro

To get 5.1 out form optical out you need a 5.1 decoder. It will cost around 4K. Search ebay.in.

That doubt I also have.but just informed if it may be helpful.

You can connect the audio out of stb via rca to stereo cable to line in port of the sound card to record the audio from airtel dth, if thats what you intend to do.

I think, I am not certain but if you connect the audio out to the port at the back of the Subwoofer called 'PC' you will get surround sound, which is stereo upmixed through all the speakers. If the HD STB does not have 5.1 analog output then you can not get true 5.1 surround.
