Hi guys,
I am new to this forum.
I have purchased new LG 42LB750T TV. I am getting electrical shock from the metal bezel around the frame. Don't know what is the problem.
My old CRT is still functioning properly in the same socket but when plug my new LED TV, even if it is not switched on starts giving electrical shock.
Also humming sound is coming from the back of the tv.
What should I do? I have immediately called up the customer care of LG and they have given me complaint number..
Has anyone faced this kind of problem?..Need help of your expertize.

Regards,
Prakash

Reasons could be many more. I think u r talking abt light shock not the direct shock like u touch naked current wire. Check if u have connected any cable other than power cable like HDMI, component, etc. Remove them n check only connecting TV. Or connect ur old crt TV check by touching metal part of it, we rarely find metal parts in a crt outside rather backside. Could be a earthing problem.
My CRT tv also shocks when I touch any metal part of it like back side connections and it spreads via cable to DVD player, stb.
I didn't have time to check who is culprit and I don't need to touch them as my CRT has all plastic in front.
Also check ur power socket has phase control, means if check with a tester it should be off in both holes when u press switch to off, it not u may get it reversed then check.
If possible check ur TV at neighbors house. I know its very happy painful that u buy a new TV and get shock which is very rare.
Better act fast, if TV has problem u'll get a replace I think.

lot of people buy TVs from abroad like Thailand to save some Rs.
This is a lesson for those who after getting thai massage, get electric shock after landing in india

Thank you for replying guys.
When I detached my set top box from the tv there was no shock.
Also when I detached the composite cable from the tv a little spark appeared and the composite wire was very hot.
Looks like my set top box was the cause of shock.
After than I only switched on my tv and played couple of videos from youtube and pen drive. Surprisingly there was no shock from the metal frame of tv..
Only thing that worries me now is that whether my tv is damaged or not.

get the earthing for the socket where STB is connected checked. else call up TS and ask them replace the box as BIOHAZARD.
