Guys Im planning to buy energy take classic 5.1. Sre thy really good. Im planning it for my computers which i use it basically for movies and gaming. Movies is my 1st priority. Does any one uses energy take classic 5.1..?? If so can i have your review plz..??

You will need an amp to run the energy take 5

For Movies it is fine. I am not sure what the price for energy take 5 is but why do you need 5 speakers. Pick up good 2 speakers with an amp they should do a good job.

AFAIK, ETC 5.1 is no more available here and you may need to import it. You will also need a good AVR to connect these speakers.

Guys ETC is availabe in amazon and my brother will be picking up one for me when he comes. ETC is a 5.1. It comes along wid sub-woofer. So why should i buy a separate amp for it. and regarding the guy who owns it.. How can i contact him..??..can u giv his email id if u don mind..?? Thanks

LOL. That in a way is funny.

I suggest you refresh your knowledge and plan it out before you take a plunge. Vis to a HiFi store is recomended. :)

He may be under the false impression that ETC 5.1 is like other cheap chinese 5.1 HTs where the satelite speakers are connected to the amplifier within the subwoofer unit.

@Raghavan sridhar - You need a 5 channel amplifier or AVR to drive the satellite speakers. To send personal message to other members, click on their user name and select the option 'Send a private message to'.

Yes i don't have much knowledge about speakers and AV receivers. And that's the reason y i seek help from u people. I really don't know why AV receiver is required. It will be good if u can able to explain me rather than laughing out loud at my knowledge which i myself accept i don't have any in that field. thanks for your time :)

You can you go to any ht store, ask for your options. Take a demo. This will help getting a clear picture of the setup, components, what you get and how it works etc.

Now there are integrated HT setup from manufactures like Sony, Philips etc. where you get the receiver + amplifier + ( + most often a dvd or blue ray player ) all integrated to a single box. They normally fall under the low end of the spectrum ( 3k to 25k )
These typically have 2-4 Ohm speakers and will very limited connectivity options.

An AVR just receives the input from your bluray player/ DTH box etc. It splits the audio into different channels (5.1 / 7.1 etc ) amplifies the signals and then sends it to each of the speaker.

Speakers do required a lot of power. The current provided by the stereo out might be able to drive your ear phones .. but not the bigger speakers ... You would have seen the Public Address Systems where they use big boxes called the amplifier. AVRs are miniature creatures doing the same job.

Another option here is using Active speakers. They contain amplifiers within, but they need separate input connections for power and sound input.

In short if you are looking at ETC it will definitely need an AVR/Amp as they are not active speakers.

Or you can look at packaged solutions. An audition might really help you out here. Listen to the quality difference.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
