I have the same tv too. As it is wi-fi lan ready, to enable wireless you would need a proprietary sony Wi-Fi adaptor UWA-BR100, mrp, 2990/-.

As an alternate there are 2 other options for wireless connectivity:
1. If tv is close to the BSNL router, you could connect it via lan or 2. (what worked for me as tv was in a separated bedroom far from my Linksys router) 2. Add a wi-fi extender / re-router (I used an Asus RT N10+, mrp 1350) & connect it via lan to the tv.

Worked great for me as I needed to boost the wi-fi signal in the particular area anyways. Hope it helps!

How good is this wifi repeater with regard to distance and are you able to stream movies from your computer without stuttering?

Regard to distance from? If you mean computer to tv, they are pretty far apart
& yes I'm able to stream from the computer without stuttering. There was stuttering playing hd over the net though but I guess that's more to do do with my 2mbps cable.

Its just a way of not gettin stuck with buying the proprietary WiFi dongles, without compromising on wireless. I'm not recommending the Asus router here as haven't compared to others but the concept remains the same.

thanks for the info...I am planning to connect my bsnl router with LAN cable to the TV.. and then running Homestream ( provided by sony ) on my laptop...will this work... i read this is other post on the same forum.
Also is there any risk of TV catching some virus through Laptop or Internet ? how to avoid that ?

Ninja.

I don't personally use 'homestream' so cannot comment. I have set up a home network on my pc which all devices on my network share e.g. the Panasonic BD220 (built in wi-fi) in 1 room, the EX650 (via above method) in room 2 e.t.c

As for the virus, haven't faced any problem & don't think the tv can get affected but if really worried you could get a good anti-virus for you're laptop. Cheers!
