Friends,

We all get so many emails which are fake and fraud like Shell Lottery, RBI money transfer, etc.

I am curious to know what is this? had anybody caught in this scam? How will it benefit the other party? What is the main intention behind it?

Can you guys throw some light on it.

They just want to rip people off. I'm sure few fell for that although they're not regular on the internet.

I came across a person few years ago who was weeping at a cybercafe about a fraud. She was scammed by these pricks.

They first say they want a bank account to transfer money. They even sent her a small amount to gain some confidence. Then they asked her to pay some money as fee after which they will send full amount. And she fell for it.

She even showed us a e-mail they wrote. They even wrote things like "Hope God is being kind to you. I wish you good health always. How is mother and father? I love my parents too.. Blah Blah"....

But, after giving our Bank account# How will they get access to take the money from our bank? I see our banks are so secure.

They don't take money from our banks, they make you send them money.

And about accessing the bank account, they send you phishing mails where they send a link to a / your bank's login page. That link will not be the same as banks although it will finally take you to the login page. They might send malware which can log the keystrokes thus getting access to your bank account or credit card info or your personal details.

So never ever click any links from e-mail which demands you to reset details on your account or something like that. You better open the page on a different tab and login but never click links. It's about privacy :)
