After reading all the wonderful reviews here and auditions, I've decided to go with Marantz NR 1504 with Boston Acuostics XS 5.1

The combination is given by a dealer here in Hyderabad for 53K, is this reasonable ?

Also please suggest me if the decision is a good go ? Or I need to look at other alternatives.

I'm planning to buy next week mostly.

Please suggest.

Thanks

Check with reliance didital banjara hills.
They were giving same offer + free Bluray player sometime back.

This is indeed an excellent combination at this price point, no doubt about that. You can surely go ahead with it but in case you are open to future upgrade or just want to play around with your system a little bit i suggest you to try out a 3.0 system. Boston speakers are great but a pair of BS or FS are always better than 5 satellites at a given price point IMHO. Check out the Jamo S 628 FS or pioneer sp fs52 with the marantz. If space is a constraint then i suggest Dali zensor 3 BS. The dali Z 3 BS with Z vocal is a costly proposition but when paired with the marantz it becomes sublime. You can also try Yamy RX V377 or Pio VSX-523K with SP FS52 and SP C22 for a VFM combo. Audition the different combinations and pick your components based on what you like.

If efernand1 managed to this post. he will be in cloud9 lol..

You got a very good deal mate. that was the best combination for BA XS 5.1

Did u audition ?

Hi Nero9

There is no benefit to me to be on Cloud9.. ;) regardless it seems rkperumala made a sensible choice....hope he auditioned it...as that is very important...everyone is different and will have a different taste in sound quality and output expectations....

Hi rkperumala,

All the best with the new setup...hope the dealer is giving you warranty with the NR1504 + BA XS 5.1 for that price....still would suggest you visit Reliance Digital and see if the deal is still available....an excuse to get a free demo to decide again if required...

All the best

A final Q.....

Does the power output of Marantz , which is being said 50 Wats, will this suffice ?

I am confused in this part, as other brands are giving 75, 100,120 W.

Kindly please suggest.

Thanks

I have a similar query about speakers for NR 1504.

Would Marantz NR 1504 be able to drive Boston Acoustics A360 easily? I'm currently looking at my upgrading my amp (from Yamaha) to 1504 and use the existing JBL bookshelves. Would like to consider upgrading front BSs to floorstanders later on - BA A360 or something in that range.

Hence wanted to understand if NR1504 would be sufficient considering future speaker upgrade plan.

Better go for SR5008 if you are looking at floorstanders.

My Budget is not more than 55k.... Kindly please suggest any ?

Any one from Hyderabad ? Who got a best deal from any store ?

Hi mate. if you have space for floorstanders..

My suggestion would be get a yamaha rx v 377 for 30k and Pioneer fs 52 for 20k for now..

Later you can add remain surrounds, center, and subwoofer one by one, which would give you a kick-ass system for both music and movies.

Compared to Jamo S426HCS3, yamaha yht 299, BA XS 5.1, Onkyo HTS 3500...Pioneer AJ package will be on top of the line anyday..

So, don't rush for an 5.1..Just build it slowly, which would lead you to a great system for next 5 years..(atleast that's what i did)

Good luck.

Any store in particular in Hyderabad, where I can find Pioneer SP-FS52 ?

Thanks for your humble & Valuable suggestion.
