Free Blu-Ray player for HTPC

I came across this player that is available for free download.

DAPlayer - Free HD Bluray Video Multimedia Player Software

I am going to install it and try it out. Can a few others also try it to see how it works? If it works as claimed, it has the potential to shut down PowerDVD and TMT.

DAplayer doesn't support Hardware acceleration.CPU load around 40+%.

Spiro, I was specifically looking for players that support BD playing and full HD Audio. I have yet to test the one I have shown.

This uses external decoders and does not explicitly say it supports BD.

This does not support BD. There is BD version not yet released.

Initial impressions:

The DAPlayer seems to be, as yet, not bug free or complete.

1. It does not seem capable of bitstreaming audio. I could not find an option for that. I could not get regual Dolby/DTS, leave alone HD Audio.

2. Though the video is fine, navigation seems buggy. When I tried to jump chapters, the player minimised itself. In one attemt it crashed, and in the second attemp it just stopped playing.

It is quite possible that the player is optimised for Intel CPU and does not know how to instruct AMD properly.

Let us hope the guys work on it and remove the bugs. The player does play BD video flawlessly.

Both TMT5 and PowedDVD 11 do that well.

I have mentioned somewhere that Pot can play BD directly when you select the STREAM folder.
