Dear All,

Kindly let me know the name of any free utility software that can be used to find duplicate audio/video/data and photo file in my computer. The search should be based on content.

The software must be able to detect same file but of different size,name and date.

There are many open source programs available on sourceforge that do this but only with different size and date. I don't know if with duplicate files of different names it is possible.

I suggest not using such a program since many times different copies of the same files are required in different folders for various programs to work. Sometimes the file names are same but they are configured differently in each folder depending on why they were placed there.

They've also got versions of the software specifically for music dupeGuru - MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC (iTunes) duplicate scanner and images dupeGuru Picture Edition - JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, BMP duplicate scanner
