Any members here from Kanyakumari or travelled and stayed at Kanyakumari?

We 5 couples (all senior citizens) are planning to travel to Kanyakumari during next week. We will be staying one night there and looking for a good but not very expensive room for our stay.

Anyone can help me?

Years ago, I had stayed in Hotel Temple Citi - within walking distance to major points. See if it suits you.

Thanks, yes looks very good hotel but seems a bit expensive. It comes to Rs.3000 per room including taxes. We need to limit budget at Rs.2000 per room - will also try through TripAdvisor.

When we are on tour, we stayed at TTDC(beach side), walkable distance to Temple. Though the eminities and the quality of the rooms looks ordinary(Govt style), the atmospere, open area is very good. Rooms are spaciuos, very calm and entire night you can enjoy the sound of the waves and breeze. Price little expensive. But we have enjoyed the stay. Before reaching that, we actually went around so many budget hotels. Most of them are very conjested, small rooms, narrow corridors, lack of parking space (we have to park on the road side) etc., and some bad smell in the corridors. Finally we settled with TTDC, btw, during entire round about journey, even in Rameshwaram, Madurai and Srirangam we finally settled with TTDC rooms without looking back, which found to be good compared to others.

Thanks guys for your suggestions/recommendations.

We need to pay full money in advance whilst booking with TTDC and most of the other hotels.

Since we are not going there directly from our home, instead we have to stay in between, and if any delay or change in programs prior to reaching Kanyakumari then we will lose the amount paid in advance.

Trying to see if any hotels available where we can just book rooms and pay at site with cancellation prior to 12 hours.. something like that.

Thanks all of you for your suggestions.

We have now taken a decision not to book rooms in advance in Kanyakumari because the arrival date may get delayed by a day or so. Our first night stay is planned in Alleppey where one of my relatives staying there agreed to book a hotel on first day night stay.

From Alleppey, our initial plan was to go direct to Kanyakumari and then come back to Thiruvananthapuram however now a couple of families suggest that we visit Thiruvananthapuram and then to Kanyakumari.

In this situation, we now decided it is better to book rooms on arrival at Kanyakumari. Anyway now it's not a season or holiday hence not expected much crowd and demand for hotel rooms.

While we are on tour, we have not booked any rooms in advance because, it is more risky for the family without know much about the place. If local contacts are well available, or we had previous experience, then only we can take booking of rooms well in advance.

After reaching place, we have looked into few hotels then booked at TTDC. It was off season, so rooms were easily available for booking. That would be more convenient, as all these are famous tourist places and lot of options are available once we reach there.

yes. Visit trivandrum first and them travel to kanyakumari.

Decades ago (somewhere in 1990-94 to be precise), I remember staying at Vivekanand's lodge.
Quite austere setting, room facilities and food services. But good experience, nevertheless.

Yes, I too have seen this property when I went to Kanyakumari some 6 or 7 years back. The distance from this property to the beach, Temple etc. is around 1.5 to 2 km. It's an old property but well maintained and only Veg food available in the premises.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
