Something about the Dutch never gelled with me ever. Last night's episode further reinforced it.
No doubt, Mexico was at fault right from the onset of the 2nd half. They opted for defense, instead of embarking on a 'continued' attack which might have not allowed the Dutch to unleash so many attacks on the Mexico goal. Well, 10 corners say a lot!
Otherwise, Mexico was doing a far better possession game and should not have replaced the sole opportunist amongst them.

Yes indeed, I was rooting for the Mexican team( having visited and thoroughly enjoyed Mexico City a few weeks ago) ! The Dutch were relentless in the last 10 minutes.

I got up from my sleep to watch the match 34 minutes into the first half and couldnt believe my eyes! Anyway, Brazil will probably carry this trauma for the next 100 years. Hope tonights is a better game.

from the game where Brazil drew with Mexico, any football novice could have predicted the inevitable. Fred was totally useless up front and other than running up and down, fowling and diving, Hulk was doing nothing else. I thought Bernard played decently well yesterday but that was it. Thiago Silva's absence opened up the Brazilian goal and Julio Ceasar looked like a clown in front of goal. At one point it looked as though the Germans were playing a little game amoung themselves to ascertain who would score next
The englishman on live commentary (Sony Six) commented, "if this were a cricket match, it would have been time to declare"
Its a wonder Columbia could not get past Brazil. Ideally it should have ended for Brazil at that stage.
With Angel Di Maria missing, and a lot resting on Messi's shoulders, Argentina can meet with a similar fate if they don't look sharp.

Stayed up and watched most of yesterday's match. Defensive marking of Robben was very good, he was ineffective. I gave up at fultime, couldnt stay up after that. The match times are insane for us, I wish they had the finals programmed for 9.30PM IST.

I was going to bed at 6:30pm and getting up at 12am to watch the games, was a good tournament overall.
