Green cast issue with Panasonic Viera V20

Hello Everyone,
I got my Panasonic 50V20 3 days back. I have connected it to tata sky HD PVR Plus receiver. Picture setting is normal and i have reduced the contrast to 45 to take care of burn-in for initial 100-200 hours. Rest all settings is at 50. When i tune to some channels, i seem to get a green cast especially on the face. The output from STB is 1080i / 50 Hz.
Does anyone face a similar issue? Any advice on how to correct this issue?

COngrats for ur new addiction,

i also get the set 2 days back and on first day o also noticed the similar kind of green tinch, but later it was disapperead. Iam keeping contrast at 55 and colour 35, sharpness 25, brightness 0-5.
This may be the case of custom factory settings which are more biased towards green. but no such issue is faced by me till now. I have wathced normal tv and some movies from USB, yet to play HD material over it.
Just keep the settings to low and than try...

could this be a cable issue? try another cable. Does the problem appear with other sources as well?

I dont think its a cable issue...I will cross check with component input and see...Will reducing the green tint in professional setting help?

Has anyone else faced a similar issue ? I checked with another cable and problem exists..It seems to affect only the skin tones..Rest all colors seems OK..

If its a brand new TV, then few things to look into:

- make sure the settings are at the minimum
- ensure your cable is decent
- ensure there are no magnetic objects around as these influcence the colour.

If it goes away like the other poster then keep an eye on it as its not a common thing as far as I have seen.

did you change the cable or source as well? did you try playing from usb?

Thanks for the reply!
I tried playing back a bluray disk and it played flawlessly!
I didnt see any green cast...
The problem was the content through my tata sky..
It is better now after reducing the contrast, color and sharpness.

I am also planning to buy one
While going through one of the forum review in amazon the reviewer had got the set replaced from amazon as there seemed to be a defect while few other people said it went over with time

I have Panasonic Dec'09 model 42C10. Though not only skin tones, yesterday I found all colors changed. I was able to make TS HD + STB to misbehave with some combination of keys (could not reproduce afterwords). Basically I wanted to check signal level. So after going to system menu pressing those 0, 1 & okay keys, I accidentally pressed yellow and back key (forgot here). Somehow STB hanged and on pressing '0' it started going to UTV movies and with 'back' on previous channel.

Then started the color change. Dashes in volume control were Pink in place of blue, program name selected with arrow keys were pink background. All skins were blue and gray.
I just switched off STB using remote control and see TV input menu is okay. Everything is okay on restart of STB only. No wire or pin touched by me. TV was on during this and nothing changed.

Summary: Its STB and not TV. Software can cause these errors.

Yes that is a good point! STB may malfunction sometimes.

I paid 87k and got it from panasonic show room koramangala

HI All,
I too noticed the green banding issue in my new 42v20, looks like the face and skin has burned, people point that the images of people on screen look black and faded or burned out. I have STB of local cable. I have not noticed this issue when movie form external storage is played. My settings are -- contrast=24 color 20 and all others 0. The pics of skin from cable channels look aweful.
Any recommendations?
