Hi, I am srikanth Vittal form bangalore, very new to this audio forum. I am a novice in this field and seeking expert advice on how do I build Audio system step by step. I am a keen audio enthusiast and looking to setup a good audio quality system in home
Edit:
Sorry missed to mention, currently have only a Sony home theater system in home. I am in a fix whether to buy a sound bar jbl 5.1 or 9.1 or to build a 5.1 home theater 1 by 1. I am connoisseur of good sound quality and is looking for your help.

Do you want a stereo setup or home theatre setup and whatz your budget ?
Your room size ?

Hello Aayush,

Sincerely sorry that I am still novice and couldn't completely understand the difference between stereo and home theater. By home theater I would assume a full setup with AVR and speakers and by stereo I assume it to be more simpler setup.

The room size is 160sq ft (15*10.5)
I am working with a budget of around 75K

To be very honest I wanted to go for a sound bar, I tried to hear to sony HV9F, samsung Q80, jbl 5.1 and 9.1, Bose soundbar 700 but never liked the depth of music. It was too bassy for me.one fpa my friend suggested that I should try a home theater with simple setup and add speakers when budget permits. He suggested me this site. I read through the articles on soundbars but still couldn't get my question answered. I have some simple questions
1) I like listening to all music, my wife is a professional carnatic singer and she appreciates good balance between vocal and percussion ( drums and accompanying equipments)
2) should I search for good soundbar or should in go with building home theater system
3) is my budget decent enough to start with home theater
4) my home doesn't have great acoustic setup, it's just a classical style room, wanted to check if this matters a lot if I want to go for home theater

Thanks in advance
Srikanth

Hi

If your priority is only music listening , then there’s no point in building a home theatre setup.
You need a source (DAC / CD player / streamer / TT ) , a stereo amplifier and a decent pair of speakers.
