HDMI Audio Issue - Fixed

Guys,

Need help. I have a Samsung Blue Ray player BDP3600, connect over HDMI to my DENON 1610. When I am listening to only Audio (Via CD or USB) and I turn off the TV, the audio goes away from the AMP. I have set the HDMI audio out to AMP on 1610 and even that is not helping. I have to always keep my TV on, even when I want to listen to just music. Please help....

Turned Off Anynet+ from the BlueRay player, works likes a dream..

Try the Pure Direct mode if the amp has one.....

Did you mean Pure Audio or Direct mode ? Is there a mix-mode available on Denon like Pure Direct

^^ Its called Pure Direct in Yamaha where the amp cuts out any video out and just does shortest path audio processing.Is it called Pure Audio mode in Denon?

Then there is the Straight mode in Yamaha,maybe thats the counterpart of the Direct mode u are speaking of

the audio goes out?? Does the Amp remain tuned on when you switch off the TV?

You can check the settings in TV about the HDMI control on other devices connected to it.

May be this related to the HDMI Control set up IN 1610. Is that set to ON? If yes, you can try setting it to OFF.

If you connection is something like the below, then it could be because of handshaking issue

Samsung -> HDMI -> AVR -> HDMI -> TV

The handshaking requires both the HDMI links to be active.

Try switching the components in different order including TV and see if you can switch it off.

I think this trick worked with some other member to,secondly you must have configed your TV with AVR as direct link,check that too.
