Hey guys

I accidentally pulled out the red wire on my headshell to the connecting pin. Is it possible to solder this back on to the pin? Sorry for the blurry pic, but you can see the red wire disconnected from the connector. Since this is a lenco headshell, i can't use any other one!

Yes, the little connector piece which is separate. I will solder it to that.

Now to find someone who lives close to me that knows how to solder :P

Till that time try to make contact of broken piece to pin by stretching wire. This could be just making it little straight gently. Like spring push it towards point of contact where it was broken. For time being it will work even without soldering. or cut piece of outer jacket from 1mm wire, push it along wire over pin. This will keep it in contact. I tried above both till wire arrived from US. I agree with Sachin, don't apply heat to the Cart pin by any means.

Hi Tek,

It might be a good idea to remove the red wire clip from the headshell side as well before getting the soldering done.

If those are the original wires, then you should consider getting a new set of four from the site mentioned in the earlier post.

Hey G401fan - the problem is the original Lenco headshell wires are not changeable (unless you resolder) as their are all soldered into the headshell base connector. I think the only solution is to solder the clip back onto the wire (after removing it from the cart)

Actually you are there in Mumbai, otherwise I could have displayed some expertise in the area of soldering. But whoever does its not that difficult and easy task.

@tek: please buy one set of Cardas headshell wires. In the meantime, if you are coming to my side of town, we can fix that solder. It's a few seconds job.
