Ok, I just did that to catch your attention :yahoo:

I am a newbie here. My name is Coapullai (pronounced as Co-play).I am 28. Just Married (to my girlfriend).
I have a history with Audio and Video equipment mainly because of my Grandpa and Dad.
They owned all imported stuff ranging from Gramophones, Turn Tables, Hi-Fi Stereos, Zenith Short Wave/Long Wave radios and Bush branded Solid Wooden Speakers. Most of which I still have managed to protect till date.

An Electronics & Communication engineer by profession, I have a basic+1 understanding of how stuff works but still am a noob when compared to the kind of knowledge you all possess in this Digital era.

I am here to learn, study and create a Set-up which will please my usage (meager) and pocket.

The devices I currently own are categorized under 2 types
ANTIQUE ANALOGS
1. 2 Solid Teak Wood speakers with 3 speakers in each tower (brand is called BUSH).
2. Philips turntable (needle needs to be replaced).
3. An old Mono winding type gramophone with the Brass trumpet like thing.
4. A Zenith AM/FM radio which has world maps and weighs almost a tonne.

MODERN DIGITALS
5. Brand new Panasonic X Series, Viera Plasma TH-P50X60D. Bought for 52k from Devi Eletronics, Bangalore.

6. A Macbook Pro (Late 2011)
7. An iPhone5 and 4S
8. Tata Sky HD box (brand new- worst purchase ever made -12 HD channels? seriously?)
9. Sennheiser CX-300 in-ear headphones
10. Klipsch Image S4i in-ear headphones.

I bought the entry level 50"Plasma because I dont like 3D and Smart features. I prefer using a TV as "a TV". My TV viewing distance is 11ft (maximum)

Well, thats too big for an introduction. I will slowly post what I am trying to achieve and what I want to do with my old audio equipment.
In the meantime, Wishing myself a good & educative stay here.

Cheers,
Coplay
