Guys,

I bought sennheiser cx300s for 20USD in 2006. I was very happy with it and 3 days ago my mongrel toyed with it and 3.5mm plug is gone. I tried to find it online but they are all international.

Something like this

NTP3RC-B 1 (one) OEM Neutrik 3.5mm 1/8" RA TRS Cable-end Connector Gold contacts (Rs. 902)

but they are expensive for a 20 dollar IEMs. I wish to find something domestically which is of reasonable quality and price.

Many Thanks,
Kevian

May be he knew it is time for a new iem.

You can use any stereo pin as long as you isolate the three wire for either channels and ground as solder them back. Left channel to tip and ground to sleeve.

Cheap ones from mx may cost less than 50 bucks.

I dont blame him. It was my mistake for leaving it accessible to him. Thanks for the soldering instructions Doc.

You think this one from lumberg good enough? quality wise?

Not going for switchcraft or neutrik ones, kinda expensive for 2 grand IEMs.

...That's only mono!

Any connector that you can get will do you fine as long as it is a good fit. You'll only know that when you try, but this is such a standard item it should be ok. It is the sockets that tend to wear out. I'd just go to my nearest electronic bits shop.

The last time I saw a broken earphone, the wires were so small: good luck with the wire stripping and soldering!

Which one is mono? Lumberg or MX?

Regarding the soldering, I'll have to approach an electronic service shop.

Added Later: I guess you were talking about Lumberg. Thanks for the heads up.

Lumberg is mono. note the tip of both the MX has three exposed metatal parts divided by rings. The tip is left channel followed by right channel again followed by ground.

Solder them properly as the wires are very thin and need to be twisted together then dipped in flux before soldering.

best way, grab a cheapo sony walkman earphone(good copy) - 50rs

get the 3.5mm cut leaving cables at 3inch, solder wire-to-wire with original cable, put heatshrink tube on joint:) ....
