Dear Audiophiles ,

After lot of research I bought "PSB Imagine T2 " for my stereo interests. Mainly looking at the vocals and mid range performance .

I listen music at moderate volumes . room size is 14*18 .Now connected to Denon X2000 . I was not that happy ( the instruments over take vocals )with the denon AVR Stereo mode for my speakers ,so I raised a ticket with PSB tech. support . They strongly asks me to consider auditioning matching AMP's .

I ran a quick search for a 50W integrated Amp. which puts vocals front .

1 . NAD 356 BEE DAC
2. Marantz PM 6005

Can you suggest me a better int.amp to pair with T2's

Regards

Hi

There are a lot of brands in the market and not many live up to the user's expectations....

AV Receiver and Amplifier Power Ratings Trends: How and Why Wattage Ratings are Manipulated | Audioholics

A few of the below companies really take pride in research, development and creation of performance products which do meet the expectations of users like us. I have used a lot of brands of integrated and AVRs over the past 12 years and feel the below are a good for you to consider....audition them.....these provide the actual rated power (pure) across all frequencies....

Marantz
Cambridge Audio
NAD

End of the day it depends what appeals to you and your budget.....there are endless reviews and videos over the net to support the performance of the above 3 brands...

Happy hunting! Hope this helps...

Dears ,

I called up a Marantz/Denon shop guy . I explained my situation . Even he admits that PSB - NAD is a well matching solution and he had tested it seems .

As you guys suggested , I have to audition those .. I got to drive 160km for the same .

NAD 326BEE which has tons of reviews is not available at the store , hence I am forced to look at NAD 356BEE+DAC for Imagines . IS any one using this AMP ?

Can it bring the Vocals out ?

The NAD 326/356 can't drive these. You have to go to the too of the NAD lineup - 390d/m series if sticking to nad.

as I said again like Rahul Gandhi for all AV problems you have single article to read - WHICH IS POSSIBALY SINGLE ARTICLE YOU EVER READ IN YOUR LIFE... AND SAME SET OF ANSWERS.

Being a used dealer I can confidently say that it is better to go WITHOUT pre conceived brand notions - and try as much as possible - and mind well I must have sold 15-20 Marantz Amps / CDP /Tuners / Tapes in the past - and still I feel you my experience is very less to guide.

I get pissed because you do not even dare to find out whether your marantz is really teling the truth in specs ??? I feel your NR 1402 is just 15 W x 5 to 30W x 5 amp - so having experienced one of the LOWEST powered , lowest end amp of perticular brand how come you recommand a brand?

Gyuys check all his past posts - he is in same rant - not even bothering to accept feedback... and better ignore his advise.... as it is with YOUR EARS you are listening spending YOUR money

why would NAD be a stay away stuff ? PSB &NAD pairs well
arent creek's lil too finicky over what you pair them with to get the best out of them ?

Because I have heard the famed current NAD/PSB combo & can say with authority that the combo STINKS!!!

If you want nothing but over powering LF & only this criteria ticks your pref, then yes, PLS go ahead & suggest/buy this combo.

As for creek being finicky, well every combo IS finicky! Trust your ears & go for one which works for you.

Rant over!

:)

You read the article BEFORE buying your Marantz 1402 or After?

as I understand Your marantz also OVERRATED amp - actually its power rating should be around 15 Watts x 5?

and why this rahul gandhi like rant - show your limited knowledge for every problem??:ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah:

especially when you have not experienced high wattage amps -giving your opinion about the same??

Is any one using Marantz Integrated Amp with PSB Speakers . Do they match well .
Me looking for PM 6004 or the new PM 6005 . PM 6005 arrives in UAE by April .

meetrijas, congratulations on the PSB Imagine T2s!

These are excellent speakers and you will not do them justice with a 50k amp.
To get a suitable amp in your budget forget about buying new and look at the used market instead where you will get excellent choices.

This is a decent amp available in this posting on here;

Here is another offering from a Chennai based FM

If you can stretch your budget to about 80K, there is a company called Acoustic Portrait in Bangalore which has a new integrated amplifier which will suit your requirements really well. Acoustic Portrait

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
