help me buying sony ddw5500

Is there anyone who owns this system? i want some review on sony ddw5500. how is it differ from ddw1600. i know its a very old model and with this price range i can buy onkyo or yamaha hts. but onkyo and yamaha don't have there service centers here. so, please suggest any good hts. also i've seen on lg website that they have also launched a ht component system, but didn't find in any showroom. please help guys..???

Dear Friend better go with Onkyo or Yamaha they are much better than Sony. Only because of service centre you consider SONY ???? Think twice....

but i've never auditioned any onkyo or yamaha hts. Here nobody sells these systems, so how can i select which ht is best for me..??. My room size is 19x24. please suggest a ht which best suits my room size..

Hello Vishal..

I have this system since 2011, I bought it with great expectations and experience with older Sony products. This system is good when you want to listen to stuff very loud but when it comes to quality I would recommend going for another products like Onkyo or Yamaha at this price. If you shell out a little more Onkyo 5400 HTiB is a great choice. Some issues I found with this Sony DDW5500 aka muteki is that the bass is not smooth and regular, it can produce loud bass but not real heavy ones. It also lacks 'mid' so you won't enjoy music much especially rock or songs with trumpets etc etc.
