Help me choose the best 42" LG TV.

Hello,

I need some quick help.

My uncle wants to exchange his 32" LG 32LE5300 LED TV for a bigger 42" one.

The catch is that he can only exchange it for a bigger and better LG panel.

Other brands are ruled out at this point of time.

So, here is my question to all fellow videophiles - which 42" LG panel has the best 1080P picture over HDMI?

You may also suggest top contenders from other brands - however, my uncle will probably have to stick with LG.

I am also curious to know - how does LG stack up to Samsung, Sony and Panasonic?

The choice is then limited to the LG LW6500 or 5700 in the LCD(LED) sets-as most of the older series may have been sold out, among them, the LX9500, or 5500 are very good.Clearly the LW6500 or 5700 are the best now available with Cinema "Flicker free"3D,unless your uncle is willing to buy the plasmas-which could then be the LG PZ series, please note the Plasma set is NOT the "Passive Cinema 3D" like the LCD(LED) sets.

LG does stack up to the best,and has a host of features, but always check the picture quality with your own eyes, preferably with some content you are familiar with( take along a favorite BD / DVD or USB).
