I am planning to buy the Samsung Ht-d450k
(refer link - Home Theatre System | SAMSUNG) which is available for 12800.
It is the max i can spend on my HT including DVD player.
I have also auditioned sony dav tz 210 (which sounds a bit better than this one).
However I am planning to go ahead with this one mainly because its the only budget htib which offers optical audio input. also i have a samsung lcd so i can utilise the bd wise feature.
I need your advice on the following:
1. I think having optical in is must coz in d future i can attach other devices for surround sound. Also the player may not support formats like mkv so i am planning to have the following setup to get true 5.1 surround sound for movies: laptop - hdmi- tv-optical cable-receiver(samsung htib). Am i correct ? Is this possible?
2. I am increasing my budget just because the other lower samsung models do not have dts. I would like to go for the lower model if the following is possible : i use the above mentioned setup and play movies with dts but the receiver does not support dts.will i still get true 5.1 surround sound?
3. based on the above should i go for it?
4. Any other htib suggestions??
