Help Regarding Harman Kardon...

Hi All,

Had a visit to HK showroom in Forum Mall BLR. I was interested in AVR-155.
I was told to choose between AVR-142 / 255..because AVR-155 has been discontinued...Can someone please confirm?

The cost of AVR-255 is quoted around 40K..Its out of my budget...
While AVR-142 is not at all futuristic..it does not support Dolby-True HD etc.

However..I liked the sound of AVR-142..Took along "The Mask" DVD & "Genesis- Concert Live in Wembley"...My usual expectations of High Freqn Notes (Treble) was best as compared to Denon 1312 xp or Onkyo 3400.
Mid Range could have been turned down a bit..I think we can do this with lowering Center Spkr Vol.
Do I have anything in HK for upper limit of 30K.

are u looking for a 5.1 / 7.1?, Hk - 255 is a 7.1ch, as far the avr its a good feature packed, one. 1312 and 3400 are 5.1ch..with same features..

Unfortunately theres no option, either we have bland looking but powerfull HK 134 or stunning Hk 255...come on Harman put some receivers in the 25-35 K range....
