Help req with TS STB and LG HDR 26"

Hi all,

I thank you all for having me on board!

I use standard cable connection with HDR LCD.... NO (STB) at all...and the PQ is terrible, though PQ gets better with DVD player.

I need assistance/help in setting up my tata sky HD STB (will order it in 2-3 days) with my 26" LG30R (HD ready, component 1 and 2 , HDMI 1 / DVI, HDMI 2).

What cables should I purchase to get max out of both HD STB and HDR LCD.I don't wish to spend a fortune on it,pls advise some brand reasonably priced which offers optimum results, or can I do with the cable provided by TS.

Is it possible to use my DVD player (old Philips) simultaneously on a diff port provided on LCD and shuffle between STB and DVD signals at will also pls advise good cables to connect DVD player too (as of now I use the standard/composite... yellow/red/white one's).

Hi brother, HDMI cable is suplied with TS HD, so you don't need to buy one, read some earlier topic post by esteemed member regarding pulling best out of LCD calibration, if u r DVD PLYR got HDMI , go for more cable , always, please remember ,do read user manual of the device u have or planning to purchase.

finally got the tata sky HD STB...and enjoying with HDMI cable provided with the box..

Hi.. congrats on getting new HD DTH.

Reg. connections, I guess you already figured it out.

You can connect both DVDp and STB at the same time in different ports and simply switch the sources on your TV remote.. STB can go in HDMI input of your TV and DVD can go in component in (if your DVDp does not have HDMI).

If your DVD does not support HDMI, connect your DVD to YPbPr port.(Componenet Red, Green, Blue port) Dont use road side cables. Use good & affordable brands like MX or Bandridge for that matter. (Price from 350/- to 650/-) you will see DVD at its best at using Progressive scan.
