Help with buying a new TV

Hi All,

I would need some help/inputs on buying a new TV. with all your experience and suggestions, I would like to evalute and purchase.

I am from new delhi. My requirements are a 46/47 inch TV. I am not sure about the difference between the Plasma or LED TV Full HD?

Also, if I decide on buying a Full HD LED what are technical things I should consider before deciding on the unit.

Any particular brand/model would someone like to recommend? Also, a place in Delhi where I could get the best price?

Go ahead and buy Sony 46Ex520 LED if budget allows .
Else Sony 46CX520 though LCD is equally good..


In Delhi u can try these in Gaffar Market for lowest prices!!

Hi kristy,

From a layman's perspective, LED tvs are brighter than plasma tvs. LED tvs are costlier than plasma tvs. Also HD ready tvs are brighter than full HDtvs in general.

If you r planning 2 buy plasma tv, you might want to consider panasonic or samsung.

Recently i had purchased 46cx520 and picture quality is stunning. All features are similar and ditto for this SONY LCD 46CX520 and the LED model 46EX520 .The difference between for these models are price only to the extant of Rs.20.000/

If you are going to watch DTH/Cable Television mostly go for LED. On the other hand if movies are your main preference, go with Plasma.

As stated earlier, plasma TV will be cheaper than LED but costlier than LCD.

If LCD/LED is your choice, you will get great deals on LG and Samsung whereas Sony will not offer much discount. For plasma, stick to Panasonic or Samsung.
