Hi all,

My friend has a 23'9" x 17'9" completely open room that he wants to make into a home theater. The first dealer guy had come out to look at it gave me the following proposal. A bit more than he wants to spend...and this doesn't even include lighting and automation. But that aside for now...does the combo & these prices look fair/good?

Before I decide on anything, need opinions and inputs with a lot of help from members on here.

Thanks

And Automation quotation:

Post images bigger or links to it so it can be opened.

Raghav_K, it is not Tapatalk issue since not able to view it on PC also.

Oops, my bad!

I printed these from my email, scanned and attached them. How to make these bigger and readable?

Thanks

Just copy paste from the source (i.e. the email) and see if it helps.

The current images are too small to read.

Yes the OP has uploaded images elsewhere and linked them... I already noticed .. Did not respond as i have no idea about the quoted stuff...

I don't know much about all audio-video, I'm new to this as well; looking up individual items on the internet he isn't giving you much discount, pretty much standard rates everywhere.

How much discount in your opinion, I should bargain for. 5%,10% or 15%?
Anyways, I am getting quotes from couple of other dealers too. Will update you with the same. May be that will help us to narrow down our choice.

Hi

Pioneer is good for Blu Ray, I use the BDP LX 55 myself....go for it..the original MRP is 30k...you should get it cheaper. Why settle for a Pioneer LX AVR? You should look for Marantz which is better anyday (This is with experience after using Yamaha, Pioneer, Denon, Onkyo for almost 10 years).

There are tons of speakers available, see KEF or Polk Audio. This means you going out and doing a bit of window shopping and see what appeals to your taste and budget. Jot down those model numbers....

I am not Hyderabad based but I am sure there are other HT dealers who can give you a competitive better quote. Marantz or Cambridge Audio are good AVRs. See your budget for the speakers and choose well.

All the best

Horribly priced stuff... who the hell in this earth pay 30 K for LX 55 and 1.34 lac for pioneer avr.. the mrp itself is 28k, i've sold it for 18k, brand new.

I am not knowledgeable on HT (as you know) so will not comment on the Pioneer AVR.
Still the Marantz SR7008 seems to come up as a comparison.

As far as speakers go the PSB Imagine series are absolute gems.
He has offered the Image T5 for the fronts - ask for the Imagine T instead.
You will have a brilliant stereo options with these in place.

I have heard the JBL Synthesis series at Lakozy Mumbai.
They can play loud but don't have the same quality as the Imagine series.
Not sure if for HT the criteria changes much but really the PSBs are that good.
